Dr. K. Dwayne Fulks was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and there he spent many of his early years. He later moved to Manchester, Tennessee where he graduated from high school. He graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1981 magna cum laude with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Fulks attended medical school at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine. He graduated in the top 5 of his medical school class and received the prestigious Dean Award for outstanding medical student. He was also inducted into the National Medical Society called Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Fulks did his surgical training at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He then went on to complete his Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Tennessee at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. During this training Dr. Fulks was involved in numerous research endeavors that include studies in facial trauma, cancer and vascular surgery and published numerous studies in the medical literature. Dr. Fulks came to Columbia, Tennessee to start his Plastic Surgery practice in 1991.
